When a loved one passes caused through illness, either a doctor or a certified nurse can issue a medical cause of death certificate.
When you have received the certificate, this must be taken to the registrar in order for the death to be registered
A green certificate will be issued to you- this must be passed onto the funeral director as soon as possible.
The registrar will require the following information:
Doctors Certificate
Full Name of the Deceased
The date and place of birth of the deceased
Deceased birth certificate
If the coroner is involved due to an unexpected death, there is no need to worry as the funeral arrangements can still be make although there may be
a delay in registering the death.
